wait. wait. i may have solved it. i replaced my t-shirt with a cami, and it seems to have helped. and i put ice in my drink, which (BY THE WAY) is amaaaaaazing. it’s this cheap bottle of mango peach sparkling margarita and it tastes perfect and it makes me feel giggly.

Okay, first of all, I am so overjoyed that you spell my name right. It just lights this little flame of contentment in my heart.

Second of all, I'm working on a very loose little baby wrap to use as a prop at my newborn sessions. I did one last weekend, and realized that I was seriously lacking in wraps and covers with nice textures. So, it's pretty basic - 30 stitches wide, knit a row, purl a row - but I'm excited for two reasons: I think it will look really nice on camera, and also, I've had this yarn for over 5 years, and have never found a project good enough for it until this one.

Yeah, I was prepared to have a 3”x1” bruise like the photos! But it’s like… half an inch by maybe six inches? It’s weird; the bruising appears to have traveled well up my arm from the implant site. That might be because my doctor originally wrapped it so tightly my hand turned blue. I re wrapped it gradually less tightly three times, but even so, I woke up the next day with my hand all puffy from fluid retention.

The other possibility is… see, my doctor explained that on people with any amount of body fat, the implant will sink into the fat, so she puts them really shallow on those people so that she can find them again later. But on sticks like me, because they have nowhere to go, she’ll insert them basically as deep as the applicator lets her so that they won’t be visible or pop out (which apparently she’s had happen on a few skinny people). So it’s possible that all my bleeding is deep enough that it’s not visible on the surface. I am seeing a yellowish stain for about two inches around that doesn’t show up in photos, which would support this hypothesis.

It’s so exciting! If this works, I should only need one or two three or four more implant cycles before menopause—much much nicer than the umpty million Depo shots!

kittasaurusrex tbh at this point the limiting factor is the Miäulein herself. She's skittish as heck in the house and will run back outside at the least provocation. So right now we aren't even trying to do anything like shut the door with her inside. But I predict it will come.

Although I'd really like to deworm her before we let her get too comfy in the house, personally.

Just woke up from a weird dream about meeting kittasaurusrex. Which was mostly weird because apparently we were teaching the same class and also their house was outside. Like there was no house, just grass and stuff. And lots of washing machines. Not sure wtf my brain is up to with that one.
