BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA TAKES OVER LONDON IN AQUILANO.RIMONDI, KITTY JOSEPH & CHANEL
On November 13, 2011 Lady Gaga was captured outside her hotel heading to the X Factor Studios in London, UK. She was styled by Nicola Formichetti for this occasion!
The songstress was wearing the white body hugging lavishly embellished top with rounded sleeves and high-waisted tulip shaped printed skirt from Renaissance craftsmanship celebrating Aquilano.Rimondi’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection gorgeously rich in artisanal detail.
“We are maximalists,” said Roberto Rimondi about the collection he designed with Tommaso Aquilano. And yes, more is more but for Roberto and Tommaso more is never enough when it comes to embellishment and I’m head over heels in love with their day-wear proposal for that season. Opulent 3-D beading. Pearls. Beads. Rolls of tufted silk. Paillettes covered in tulle… The collection is pure visual candy.
The gradient blue hexagonal perspex Color Therapy sunglasses were handcrafted by British born and based designer Kitty Joseph for her Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
Her debut collection is based on digital prints created through hand painted textile finishes, with “graduation of color and the shifting timbre of tone of color throughout a shifting spectrum” being at the heart of the collection.
White gloves, a matching vintage Chanel multi strand pearl necklace with two double C logo charms, and a poppy pin added so much more to the look!
When you are finished with the outfits, start with the shoes. This delicious and über-sensual fusion of silk, suede and python Gaga wore will make every heels loving lady heart beat faster! These are from the same Aquilano.Rimondi runway.

Mary Ellen Matthews photographed Lady Gaga back in November 2013 when the singer hosted Saturday Night Live and served as musical guest as well to promote her #1 album “ARTPOP”.
She was styled by Brandon Maxwell. The makeup was done by Tara Savelo and the hair by Frederic Aspiras.
We’re starting our journey down memory lane off with the musical guest posing in a stunning Atelier Versace Fall/Winter 2013 hand-embellished midnight blue reverse halter gown.
She’s also wearing a custom Dsquared² top hat covered in jacquard raffia lamé suit, inspired by their Spring/Summer 2014 collection, a nod to 50s vixens and pin-up girls.
What we’re looking at here is a statement necklace created by Rodrigo Otazu for his 2013 “Punk” collection. Velvety opera gloves completed the look.
Look #2 comprises a Prabal Gurung Spring/Summer 2014 suit and pants.
The lightweight wrap blazer boasts a white snakeskin panel at the waist, dual vent, two flap pockets and eye hook closure at front. The color-block slim-fit pants feature mesh panels.
A pair of round palm print shades with purple half lenses from Kitty Joseph’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection...
...and a custom silver metallic version with crystal embellishment of the Lady Mary shoes by Noritaka Tatehana were added to take the look few levels higher.
You’re about to discover a handful of emerging designers during this shoot. In the face shots above Gaga is wearing an oversized white coat by Melitta Baumeister, a German designer currently working in New York.
The coat is from Baumeister’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection. You can find out more about her on her website.
In this bumper, Gaga is chewing on a miniature Empire State Building while wearing the New York Doll bikini from Tableaux Vivants’ Fall/Winter 2013 collection.
The bikini comprises an ivory brassiere top with black appliquéd lettering that reads "New York" and a high-waisted bikini bottom with ivory lettering that reads "City”.
Her latex gloves are from young designer Misora Nakamori’s “Keen at Ease” collection.
The rest of the accessories included a feather showgirl headpiece, S/HE earrings are from Milan-based designer label ABODI’s Fall/Winter 2013 “New Religion Nr 1″ collection, influenced by Fellini, Vatican and a kind of decadent Memento Mori atmosphere...
...and the silver Lotus septum piercing by Tawapa.
The leg accessories included the Falke pure matte 50 stay-up stocking in black...
...and these Pleaser Infinity-2049 knee-high platform boots rendered in black vinyl and accented with multiple buckles!
The last look of our SNL bumper series includes custom-made Erickson Beamon headpiece, choker, earrings and seashell pasties.
The fantasy fur jacket is from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture graduate Huang Ting-Yun’s collection, titled “Building the Void”.
The chunky hoops are the Queen’s Ransom crystal hoop earrings, also by Erickson Beamon.
Her silver Swarovski crystal-encrusted Muffa pumps are custom Giuseppe Zanotti.
For the outtakes, she switched a few things up! She’s wearing the Mordekai Spring/Summer 2014 pink horsehair plume mohawk headdress.
Her knitted crochet pencil skirt with tasseled hem is from Sister by Sibling’s Spring/Summer 2014 runway show!
