I watched as they slipped, further from our kin,

Yet my best friend embraced the path forsaken.

In the depths of their being, I saw no remorse,

No willingness to change, or alter their course.

Together, we were broken, a wound that wouldn't heal.

I yearned for the days when we'd mend each other's pain,

A bond of solace, where hearts would intertwine again.

But destiny had etched its cruel design,

And my best friend became a stranger, no longer mine.

With heavy heart, I resign to the bitter truth,

That some bonds crumble even in eternal youth.

Of a friendship lost, buried beneath life's seas.

In the aftermath of loss, I find solace in tears,

For even the strongest bond can fracture through the years.

May their journey be guided by fate's firm hand,

Sheevah showed up in the winter 2022 with 3 kittens. One didn't make it. Kallie and bug did. Then Simon the siameese looking Oldman showed up. Then sheevah got pregnant again with 5 kitties. Sweetheart, miss piggy, snickers, lightning and blue. I've heard cats come to protect you from dark forces. I believe this. These cats are a blessing!
