seriously. bluebird might tease aza a lot, and laugh if he does something dumb like trip and land on his own fucking knife, but damn, she will wreck you if you legitimately hurt him emotionally/mentally. someone tries to take advantage of him or use him? nuh uh, not on bluebird’s watch. they will never find your body.
so. understandably. aymeric went through a very thorough vetting process by bluebird... by which i mean she broke into his office and gave him the shovel talk while holding a literal gravedigging shovel.

Also, that oneshot may be done one day... when Aza realised he was boxing himself into this ‘Warrior of Light’ role, and Hydaelyn’s sudden ‘protection’, he was not a happy bunny at all and had a lot of baggage and bitterness about it (still has baggage and bitterness lolol). Ofc I’m juggling my other WIPs so, ah, we’ll see when I get round to writing it ;w; it is on my to-do list though!

Seriously, Rations acts like his welfare companion most of the time. She can normally tell if he’s feeling angry or upset or overwhelmed, and pretty much just buries him under feathery love and coos at him and makes him pet her until he’s calm again. If anything happened to Rations, he would literally flip his shit not gonna lie.
If Rations isn’t readily available though, he tends to self-soothe by rubbing behind his ear, or distracts himself by maintaining his sword/armour, or just doing something in general with his hands, which is why he’s actually quite the crafter. He’s not professional though, and just makes whatever he feels like at the time.
