Day 3. A lovely local made the recommendation that Karaka Lobster is the best in the area, even better than Nins Bin. (As another wonderful local says: that is a BIG call!) So we absolutely had to research this for ourselves. Up we got, packed up camping, bundled ourselves into the car, and made a Very Important Stop in Blenheim for our first coffee of the day. Further south we went to Karaka Lobster 🦞 We didn't have the kōura (I know I know!) but jeepers the fish and chips are next level. Orange Roughy fish. Beer battered perfection. A very legit flat white, third coffee of the day, was taken away in our travel mug. It was certainly equal. Or better. Banter went back and forth. And then as we headed further south, Nins Bin was closed 😭🙀 Good thing we didn't do the A/B testing of fish and chips at both. We would have exploded. So today, Karaka Lobster was 100% the winner and I encourage you to also research this deliciousness should you make it to this darn excellent corner of the country ❤️ Later: Kaikōura back country and running back country lanes with a horse, goats, sheep and cows #kiwias https://www.instagram.com/p/CN7DegBs9rCRR0d5qKVfhib1G950JdZEKcZrRE0/?igshid=1peoil6pnt2dy
