okay first of all I love your art nouveau (?is that how you spell that?) pieces of kiyomi, they're really beautiful and well made!!
second of all, introduce the delta story! who is kiyomi, what is her role in the story, what's her favorite ice cream?
Thank you! The wedding dress one from that set is my favorite drawing I've done of Kiyomi. I'm actually getting it made into a red foil print right now for my shop (next to some other fun delta merch wink wink nudge nudge, including a 30+ page zine)
Okay where to start with the big questions hehe :) I can ramble really bad so get ready for a bunch of nonsense
So Delta is my baby, my project I've had since i was 14 or 15 years old, who knows now. That is a whopping 10/11 years. I have two tattoos for it, and for all the projects in the world this is the one I'm dead set on seeing to completion even if its slow work.
The premise in short, is that Blackwell, NY is being plagued by a serial killer, and Detective Jun Nakamura is at the forefront of the hunt. Playing cards left at the scene turn from a simple MO to personal attacks on Jun. On the other end of things, Kiyomi is a simple university student, or so it would seem. Using her connections to Jun and her wife through her best friend Celeste, Kiyomi gets uncomfortably close to Jun's secrets and uses them against her as Delta.
One half detective thriller, one half almost death note esque mind games. Lots of psychological horror, lots of gore, lots of Kiyomi being beautiful. I've never been good at summarizing things but I hope that gives you some sort of gist.
Kiyomi is my favorite oc in the world, she's so everything and lovingly crafted from some of the most influential media in my life (like Zero escape. I can cite almost every instance of ze influence on her, alias included)
Kiyomi is a 21 year old psychology major at all girls college Blackwell University. Raised in Japan by an abusive father and doting mother, she moved in with her grandparents after their deaths in a domestic violence incident. With her Grandparents she immigrated to America, more specifically Blackwell, in her teens and has been there since.
She's best friends with Celeste, her only true friend. She has a very palatable aura from afar but she tends to weird people out if they get to know her too well. She rarely talks, by choice really, and she's got an apparent gambling addiction.
Also I genuinely dont remember when I made this change but she's a model and I would rather die than take it out. It's barely relevant, but in the rewrite I'm incorporating it into the main plot more. But know if you see me draw in her in random stuff it's because she's my little canon dress up doll (and shes so doll in general but that's for another ask)
She's cold, she's apathetic, she fronts incredibly well. She doesn't feel emotions, not really. Alexithymia. She doesn't value life, hers or others. Very academic, and very research driven. Her motivations as Delta come from a place of wanting to understand emotion better, hence the prolonged stalking, notes, and photos.
Also she's the only one of them with an up to date toyhouse page so if you wanna read more in depth: Kiyomi Misora on Toyhouse
Kiyomi is a deuteragonist in the story! It's her and Jun. In the comic, it flips between their two perspectives. Even though Delta is the killer (I consider them separate characters), Kiyomi is the one pulling the strings (this is a very funny delta reference) in most of the story. A lot of the tension is intended to come from her interactions with Jun, not just the killing scenes.
I think she would like chocolate chip cookie dough the most :)
