Why are Celeste and Kiyomi friends? How much does Celeste know about Kiyomi's... lifestyle? I wanna know more about these two please and cheese

Celeste and Kiyomi met pretty close to when Kiyomi moved to Blackwell. Like her, Celeste grew up outside of the us (In France!) and she struggled to assimilate much more. The two of them initially bonded over that fish out of water feeling, even if Kiyomi handled it a bit more gracefully. But since that they've been really close and relied on each other as the one real friend that would have their back.
And I do mean that earnestly. Even though kiyomi has little regard for other people and their lives, she does hold a soft spot for Celeste. not soft enough however, cause girl fucks her over pretty badly.
Celeste knows what happened with Kiyomi's parents when she was younger, and she knows that Kiyomi struggles with emotions and such, but she's unaware of the serial killer aspect and her role in putting Kiyomi closer to Jun (Jun and Loralei are Celeste's neighbors and Celeste and Loralei have a strong relationship).
I need to be less lenient with spoilers so I'll at least tag it for delta spoilers, but a major role Celeste comes to play in the story is Kiyomi's scapegoat. The closer she is to getting caught, the more Kiyomi works to frame Celeste for her handiwork. It works too, Celeste's life falls to shambles after becoming the prime suspect in their not so big not so small town. This is at a point where Kiyomi has sort of lost herself in the game though, so not to say she would always treat Celeste like that.
