Oh, and:
Don't click on any links in emails that just say "hey", or "Do you know what this is?" Even if they are from someone you know who might send you an email like that.

Yahoo Mail Security ~KJ deals with hacking (again)
So. A family member's Yahoo account was hacked today. He was getting MAILER-DAEMON send failure messages as the hacker used his email account to send a one line "hey, how are you doing?" message (complete with a suspicious link) to everyone in his contacts.
I'm putting this out here, since it seems that Yahoo has been having hacking problems recently: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_US&y=PROD_ACCT&page=content&id=SLN3516
It's a bit of a checklist to run through if you think you've been hacked. The most important is to change your password, and don't use your birth year in it!
A step that they don't list is to check and possibly change the "How Yahoo Contacts You" settings in your account settings --make sure it's an email other than your Yahoo/SBCGlobal/ATT.net email. That way, if you're ever hacked, your hacker can't change the password on you without hacking your other email and you will be able to change the password on him without him seeing it.
