Why Native Americans Wear Red and March on May 5th
While many Americans spend May 5 celebrating Cinco de Mayo, a day that commemorates the Mexican army’s unexpected victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, Native Americans and their allies across Indian Country will spend May 5 wearing red shirts to commemorate Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) Awareness Day. At various places across Indian Country, those…
Today in enshittification news, my email app has decided that I am no longer allowed to delete emails from the notification screen, making me have to open the app to individually deal with the potentially hundreds of almost entirely spam emails I get on a daily basis.
I suspect that I will just turn off email notifications as a result. Maybe log in once a day and wipe out all the spam at once.
Day... 62? 63? of the YouTube boycott.
I think I've been on YouTube maybe twice in the past two months. There are still times I miss it, especially when it comes to just wanting to look up a song without sitting through 200 Spotify ads, but I feel like I've mostly adjusted to life without them now. It feels weird when I see a link to a YouTube video in a post or something. Like "uh, do I have to? can't this be hosted somewhere else?"
I've watched lots of Netflix, some crunchyroll (finally finished Yu-Gi-Oh! GX with the friendo after a year!), and lots of twitch. I've been tossed back into the job market so that's taken up some of the time I'd be filling to keep from yapping to coworkers. Between that and starting Persona 4 this autumn, the only time I think about YT is when it's time for a new Genshin patch and I'm like "ugh, okay, how can I get the patch info this month".
I've also de-googled browser wise, so I use Opera and DuckDuckGo for search purposes. DDG feels a little odd, but I was able to actually turn off the AI features, so that already gives it a huge boost over present-day Google.
Next moves... I think I'm going to check in here, see how many others are still on this boycott train. I'd like to switch to ProtonMail soon (within the next month) since I'm tired of google's arbitrary charges for space and Yahoo following suit with their space downgrade and the stupid new AI inbox redesign. And then I'm going to get super fucking hyped about Pokémon Legends Z-A coming out later this week.
Does anyone know why yahoo mail keeps marking stuff from AO3 as spam? Just had to go through my spam folder and mark 6 days worth of ao3 stuff as not spam...
Again.
This keeps happening. Fic updates, kudos, comments, everything. It's seriously getting annoying.

Holy fuck, the new Yahoo Mail layout is such dogshit!
An email I didn’t want to read at 1am
“If your mailbox exceeds the new storage limit after it goes into effect, rest assured it will remain active*, but you won’t be able to send or receive new emails until you free up space or add more storage.”
Timeline?! Like, I have a busy life and I’ve had that account for almost 20 years. WTF.
