So I want to know more about how you think their relationship evolves. Who confesses first? How long did they wait? When do they begin to stop being flustered wrecks around each other? GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS GRRRR

I view Khann as emotionally inexperienced (read: awkward AF), because his tribe values strength and stoicism so much. So he has NO CLUE how his emotions work, and less idea on how to express them. I headcanon that Karmelita is better than him at this (not by much lmao). I think they would dance around each other for EONS (most likely Khann finds somebody outside of his tribe who he trusts enough to vent out his emotional struggling to) and Karmelita's entire tribe probably knows hehe (maybe its in her songs when she sings? perchance...). Karmelita's dropping hints sometimes and being, y'know, (more) normal about liking Khann. Khann reacts to these hints like they are BOMBS, like- full on brain shutdown situation.
I feel like Khann expresses his feeling for Karmelita by doing stuff like carving her jewlery or armor bits or weapons, using his own claws to make her something useful. Karmelita also does this, and also could give him a makeover with golden paint :3
I think their confession would be a heat-of-the-moment thing, where none of them have any plans whatsoever for it to happen. I imagine it would go something like this:
*they're discussing romance or politics or something*
Khann: blah blah blah I LIKE YOU. OH SHIT WAIT NONONONO-
Karmelita: EH?! Really? Then what the hell was your reaction to me flirting with you??
Khann: You were HUH???
Karmelita: I like you too don't worry-
Khann: YOU DO???

I think only Karmelita would stop being a flustered wreck around Khann, and only after they get over their disaster of a confession. Khann, who still has no idea what his emotions: are, mean, or what to do about them (besides that he likes Karmelita) is still a disaster for many weeks to come.
