"Happy New Year, Alice."

[ ♕ ]   “Cheshire.” She chirps happily, her eyes crinkling into half-moons at the male’s presence as she waves both hands out in a friendly greeting. Tucking a couple of strands behind her ear so they wouldn’t block her vision in order to see the other, her lips tugged into a warm smile before nudging the other’s side in a playful manner. “Happy New Year to you as well.”

"Sleep."

"Try and sleep, alright?" A distinct male voice spoke in a hushed tone. However, she could not even think of sleeping at this time. Or on this day. Even time she closed her eyes, flashes of screams and pleas seemed to dance across her eyelids. Resulting in her yelling her lungs out. She ended up going out, inviting Jongin to go on a walk with her, telling him of how she really could not sleep and of her seemingly reoccurring nightmares.  

"I can't," She managed to choke out. She could not stop shaking at this point. She wanted the memories to stop. She did not want them to be there at all. It only caused her to loathe herself more than she already did. She managed to keep these thoughts out for so long, so why had they returned all of a sudden?

The males next action, however, shocked her. Suddenly she was engulfed in an overwhelming warmth. Her body enclosed in a strong source of heat. It was comforting, inviting, and somewhat intoxicating. For some reason, him holding her tightly, managed to calm her down. Her erratic heartbeat had returned to normal. Her dropping body temperature seemed to spike back to where it was supposed to be. The shaking, the twisting of her stomach, all gone. Almost as if she had imagined the whole thing.

So, she clung. She held on to him like he was the only thing keeping her from falling into a deep pit of insanity. No complaints were even voiced out by the male, who initiated the action in the first place. He held her and lightly stroked her hair, while Hyerim pulled the covers over the both of them. She did not care if when she woke he wasn't next to her, right now she was just grateful that he stayed. She could not thank him enough. So she just lied there, hypnotized by the rhythmic falling and rising of his chest, eventually being pulled in to her normal, dreamless, slumber.
