Kira and Dax’s relationship is just so precious? I mean, Kira literally spends the first episode yelling about how much she hates what the Federation stands for in relation to Bajor and then this quirky very educated Federation science officer just worms her way into her life. I mean Jadzia is the epitome of privilege? Even in her own society let alone in comparison to the post-Occupation Bajorans? On the face of it I would slightly lean my bets towards them being awkward or even adversarial not besties? It’s a pretty impressive testament to both of their characters. On Kira’s part she is willing to accept good individuals from Federation/privileged background even though considering all the crap she’s been through it wouldn’t be remotely unreasonable for her to remain very insular. As for Jadzia, it’s another example of her infinitely impressive social skills and wisdom. Yes, having a symbiont in her belly probably helped her to not do a julian frontier medicine bashir, but it’s still very much a credit to Jadzia in how she uses and interprets her knowledge.
