Lance’s Birthday- Klance Week Day 3
So this could of been longer and I had such ideas, but maybe sitting in the sun and doing work might of been my best plan. I’m sorry Lance, I hope you have the best birthday anyway. @klanceweek Birthday, Kisses, Present
“Keith, can I open my eyes yet?”
“Not yet.”
Lance didn’t mind surprises. As the youngest in his family, it wasn’t often he got surprises just for him. The most he did get was when he turned 15 and got a pool party all to himself and his friends that his parents hired a party planner. The surprise had been more the party planner but his point still stood. Keith had been pulling surprises left and right. First, he told them they were taking a trip, but wouldn’t say where. Just gave him a list of things to pack, told him to have his passport ready and woke him up early. Keith checked in for them and got their tickets and had Lance guess where they were going based on their boarding time. Maldives, Keith was taking him to Maldives. He wouldn’t say what they were doing after that. They had slept the whole flight and when they got off, they took a car to a boat that was taking people to another island where they meet their Airbnb host. He wouldn’t say what his house looked like and as they took a break in a small café before heading over, Keith told him he’d have to keep his eyes closed until they reached the house. Keith had been guiding him while blocking his eyes for the past few minutes and Lance was actually starting to get impatient.

Klance Week Day 1: Fake Relationship
AKA Revenge of the Red String of Fate
Basically they’re pretending to just be friends but they’re actually destined soulmates or something.

Klance week day 1 - Fake Relationship
Allura came back to the Castle with a way too serious expression that had them immediately on their feet.
“What happened?” Asked Shiro, running towards her.
“Well, Paladins… We might be having the tiniest little issue with these new allies,” she replied, shifting her gaze between them.
Lance looked at her warily. “What kind of issue?”
“Their leader asked that one of us be their date to the celebratory party they are having in a few quintants.”
A chorus of incredulous “Eh?” echoed in the control room as the Paladins processed the request and exchanged glances, wondering who could go. All except for one, who remained steady in his place, leaning on a wall with his arms crossed. He interrupted them by clearing his throat. “I don’t know why are we even talking about this, of course it’s going to be Lance, he loves these kinds of parties and he has been wanting to go on a date with an alien from the moment we took a step out of the Earth’s atmosphere.”
“What’s that supposed to mean, mullet?” Yelled Lance, turning to point an accusing finger at him.
Keith raised a brow. “Isn’t it true that you flirted with each and every alien we met? You should be ecstatic about this opportunity!”
In response, Lance’s expression did a 180 degrees change and he blushed, lowering his eyes and muttering some incoherent words that had Keith pause in confusion. He thought that he was being nice, seconding Lance’s wishes to be the guest of honour at a celebration. Was there something he was missing? Wasn’t this what Lance wanted?
“He may be right… It is the easiest choice, and probably the safest. I can go,” Lance said meekly, still refusing to meet Keith’s eyes.
“You’ll have to remember that they are the leader of an important ally to our coalition, so please be mature and responsible about this, I know you can do it,” Allura said, offering him a smile that was both sympathetic and grateful.
Lance grinned. “You know it! It is me, mature and responsible.”
He was already flipping Keith off before he could scoff.
--
The day of the party arrived and Lance was feeling nervous. He wanted to do this for the team but the truth was that he had never been on a date before and he had always hoped that his first one would be meaningful, would be with someone he liked… Or at least knew.
He stared at himself in the mirror, checking the way his blue shirt fitted nicely on his sides, how it brought out his eyes. He sighed, mumbling. “Ok, McClain, you can do this,” and moved to exit his door. As he was about to open it, though, someone from outside knocked.
“Come in,” Lance said and tried to make his smile look more sincere as he recognized Keith on the other side.
“Hey, Lance. I have been thinking about this thing and… I don’t think you should do it.”
“What are you talking about? Why this change of mind all of a sudden?”
Keith looked uncomfortable, Lance thought it was an expression that didn’t suit him well.
“I thought that I was doing you a favor… But I guess I was wrong. I saw you in the past few days and you… Didn’t look happy about this. At all. So, I’m sorry. And… I’ll go in your place.”
Lance was stunned by the confession. “I… Seriously? Why would I be happy about being some random alien’s date?”
“Because… You know… You always try to be the center of attention and all and…I don’t know, I don’t understand a lot about dates and stuff, but I can see that you are upset about this and I’m sorry. I didn’t want you to feel this way.”
“Keith, I know nothing about dates either.”
It was Keith’s turn now to look at him in disbelief. “Really?”
“Yeah,” replied Lance softly, scratching the back of his neck. “That’s the reason why I’m not sure I want to do this… But I don’t want you to go in my place. I’ll do my best and I’ll be fine, it’s just an evening after all.”
“Then I’ll come with you,” Keith announced, a new resolve in his eyes.
“How? Why?”
“We’ll figure something out. You won’t deal with this alone.”
The prospect of having Keith by his side made him relax considerably for more than one reason. “Okay.”
They chose something appropriate for Keith to wear and moved to the pod Allura had readied for Lance to reach the planet.
“Did you came up with something to say?” Lance asked.
Keith’s ears colored in a deep shade of pink that was adorable on his pale skin as he mumbled:
“Sort of… Leave it to me.”
—
The big, grayish alien waved upon seeing him approach. “You must be Lance, hello, nice to meet you! I’m Thairith.”
Lance straightened his shoulders and offered his hand for the other to shake. “It is my pleasure. On behalf of team Voltron, I thank you for your willingness to support our cause.”
“No need to be so formal, dear,” Thairith teased, then spotting Keith behind his guest, he frowned. “And who are you?”
“Good evening. I’m Keith, the red Paladin of Voltron and Lance’s boyfriend, I’m here to keep an eye on him.”
Lance choked on his own spit. “You are what now?” He whispered, his eyes impossibly wide as Keith shrugged and retorted:
“It was the easiest way?”
Keith looked almost as embarrassed as Lance felt and Lance had to admit that the plan wasn’t that bad, so he put on an easy smile and returned his attention to the alien, saying suavely:
“I am sorry, I told him that this was just a diplomatic meeting but he is very jealous when it comes to me. And how can you blame him?”
He moved his hand as if to present his entire body in the last part and as he did his best not to laugh at Keith’s strained attempts to hold back an eye roll, he found himself thinking that yes, it was still not at all how he had imagined his first date to go, but at least now it was with the right person.
