I FEEL SO FRUSTRATED BY ThIS BOOK
she goes out to kill Madame Morrible? the old and probably senile old witch? like?? only because of the paranoia about manipulations and frightful visions of schoolgirls and Nor. Like, NOTHING about that is productive. Elphaba is so....DIMINISHED herself.
oh ok but she’s too late for even that. i’m very glad i realised only very late that this story is one of continuous failure - like. this is those batman movies, it’s legend of korra, it’s...THIS. this continuous failure throughout the last three goddamn chapters. it makes me furious
also i might just simply not be taken with the discussion of ‘evil’ in this book. the supernatural natures ascribed to it. ‘evil’? why does Elphaba agonise over such a thing? when she seems one of the few to recognise it so clearly? causing others suffering....
oh wow.....wow.....so that’s where elphaba came from...? why did the wizard do what he did...?
also, the book is picking up again and i no longer feel frustrated. truths coming out of the swamps and the dragons
