So this is apparently an old story, but I recently caught wind of it, listening to my fav radio show, Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me. In 1997, the county of Kleberg, TX outlawed "hello" and adopted "heaven-o" as its official greeting. Leonso Canales Jr. convinced the town that "hello" was too negative because it contained the word 'hell.' He wanted to teach the children that the townspeople are "positive adults." Are you kidding me, Texas?
