OKAY RUNNING TO YOU TO FINALLY TELL YOU MORE ABOUT MY NEWEST BABY (ALSO I FINALLY DECIDED ON HER NAME)

So!!!! Short version: that's "Ri", my nomad baby!!! She's NOT V and she exist in the same universe as V and Lychee. (you don't have to use the quotes!!!)

Okay so "Ri" (ugh I'll explain why I use quotes later) is still from the Bakker family. When she was a toddler her mother dropped her to her own mother and left the family and her kid behind. In a few years she came back with another kid and left her to her mother too. So poor grandma had to raise 2 kids from the little age. "Ri" and her sister Arielle were very close and "Ri" was a dutiful older sister. When they got older they started to feel the upcoming death of the family but while "Ri" desided to stay Ari decided to join Snake Nation. While she was there something bad happened to her and she was killed (sorry the whole story will probably need tws). "Ri" got a voicemail that recorded everything that happened what led her to going mad from the rage. She demanded the help from her family asking them to help her to revenge her sister but the family which was already weak refused. She left the family and went on several month trip locating that family of Snake Nation which invited Ari in and the man who killed her. She tried to ask for the justice from the heads of Snake Nation but they blatantly refused her. In the end she had her revenge when she sneaked in the camp and killed the children of this man and when he saw them killed him too... Yeah.... The whole campaign took almost a year of her life and when she finished it she had nowhere to go - her family was gone but she also was betrayed by them and would never join them again. In the end she went to NC and stayed there.

When she came to NC she completely refused her old name as the sign of her resentment to her roots. And well also she has huge identity issues since her mental health isn't the best (huge understatement) after everything. She doesn't call herself in any way so "Ri" is only for the people to address her. "Ri" is ofc her sister's name. As I mentioned the usage of the quotes isn't necessary ajdhsjsj it's just she isn't Ri for me so I use them but ofc it isn't the case for you!!!

She's often battling her own demons but she's still pretty easygoing person. She's a merc and while she doesn't strive for the popularity or money she still manages to reach the Afterlife. She's very good friends with Val and they're pretty close with each other!!!

The thing was - she hated him but she loved him at the same time. Or maybe she loved him so much and for that she hated him. Or maybe she hated him to the extent where you can't help but fall in love because the hatred goes so deep the lines get blurry.

In the end it didn't matter. The choice was made before she could even think about it. Maybe that's why she was so fucking mad - knowing that she was fighting so hard and was so tired and this choice was against everything she did to survive but she couldn't fight it - it was something that needed to be done. She knew Johnny, without any of his shitty defense mechanisms, knew that he wanted to live as much as she did. And despite her every flaw, despite the place she grew up in, she still was as loyal as the stray dog picked up from the streets - and when the time came she knew she couldn't let him down, let him go somewhere unreachable and continue living with it.

Once he asked her if she would take a bullet for him. The sad truth was - she definitely would, even while being pissed off, angry and so, so outraged about how unfair her life was.

The shit she was ready to do out of love.

2085, Glen

V comes home without feeling at home. She throws her bag near the door, turns on the alarm system while taking off her shoes. She goes straight at the shower where she washes off sweat, blood and hair gel, hot water somewhat relaxes her body but not her mind. She comes out at the room naked, water is still dripping from her hair. Nibbles, old and lazy, sleeps in his bed in the corner. She stands against the window that shows the beautiful view of NC and lights a cigarette. There's nothing comforting anymore about the Night City or the smoke or this apartment. She feels detached, lonely, thrown out. She misses her old friends but all of them have their separate lives, they don't have time to entertain her all the time. She talked with Panam over the holo just a couple of days ago, Rogue and her had dinner together yesterday, Mitch constantly messages her about their adventures on road, Kerry is on tour and sends her his pre-stage selfies every goddamn time. It's weird but somehow despite being in touch with them she still feels like she was abandoned.

Maybe it started earlier. Maybe she's mentally never left fucking 2077. Jackie's death is still a sore spot for her, her letting Johnny go instead of giving him her body is still an everyday struggle with guilt. She thought she learned her lesson about the importance of connection with the others but maybe she was lying to herself. Maybe the only two people that mattered to her were dead and both of them died because of her. V scowls and squishes the cig against the glass to put it out. Literally fuck everything.

At this moment her holo bips. She opens a message and frowns. It's from Mr. Blue-Eyes.

1st part

V was leaning on her car's door when Mr. Blue Eyes' cab stopped before her and the backdoor automatically opened inviting her in. She threw away a half-empty soda can in the nearest trash bin and smoothly slided inside.

- Hello, V, - pleasantly said Mr. B, who sat opposite of her, his eyes shining blue in the dim light of car interior. The smell of his expensive cologne immediately attacked V's sensitive nose. - It's good to see you again.

- Cut the crap, - she answered coldly, annoyance that was boiling in her blood all day finally found the outlet. - I told you to transfer the gigs through Rogue. I'm not your fucking lap dog anymore, do you need me to remind you this in a more convincing way?

- This matter is too delicate to involve the fixer in it, - he stayed calm as he always did and waved at the table that was placed between the seats. - Take this shard.

V picked up the shard among the empty but clean glasses and closed champagne bottle and put it in the slot. The data began to show up before her eyes - name, picture, DOB, relatives, the list of the jobs.

- Who's the corpo cunt? - she asked scrolling through jobs. There was nothing about Night corp, the corpo's current job was Biotechnica, a senior assistant in the research and development department.

- Felicia Josten. She's been our mole in Biotechnica for several years, actually. That's why I need your personal touch here, this information is classified to pass it to someone else.

V blinked.

- Your mole?! - she barked a laugh. - And you reveal me their identity? Holy shit, you're planning to zero me when I'm done, aren't you?

- I was the one who saved you from the painful and slow death, do you think I would waste my effort like this? - Mr. B smiled somewhat mockingly and continued. - To be honest, this request isn't on the Corp's behalf but on mine. Felicia was recruited by me personally so her well-being is my responsibility in this case.

- What happened? She's been made?

- Yes, and the leak was from our side. My people are working on it but Felicia was captured by Animals that work for Biotechnica. Right now she's held at their place in Pacifica where they're probably trying to make her talk about us. I'm sure she still has some time until they decide to get rid of her since it's hard to gather information about Night Corp but I need you to pull her out as soon as possible.

- And you didn't send your people there, why? - V asked pulling out the slot after copying the data.

- I'm not going to endanger any of them to damn Animals and Biotechnica, - he answered with no trace of a smile on his face, his eyes are surprisingly raged. - But I can't leave her there too. So do your job and you'll get your money.

The car stopped right where she was picked up. The door began to open when V turned to Mr. B.

- What if she talked to them? Should I zero her too?- she challenged him with a smirk.

Mr. B raised a brow and looked at her like she didn't know a thing.

- Trust me, she didn't. Now go.

V rolled her eyes and left the car. It was time to fuck shit up.

- Why the fuck I'm the only one who finds these options weird? - V complained. - Weren't they YOUR chooms? Plus all of them are three times older than me.

V snorted.

Of course you both changed but, honestly, I think the thing between you would be healthier now. You both matured to not be two punk gonks who can't stop destroying each other. Grow a pair, man.

- Listen, I don't care about this now. You're my priority. We're going to take the chip out and then we'll see. Honestly, with your constant nagging I already feel we're an old married couple. You're annoying as fuck.
