Listen, I’m not saying anything against the trope where Dave isn’t into hurting but is willing to do it to make Klaus happy. It’s a good, solid trope and I’ve read a few really good fics for it and they are special to me.
What I am saying is that the trope where Dave does get off on hurting but feels bad about it because he thinks it means something bad about him as a person and he doesn’t know there are people who get off on being hurt until he meets Klaus, and then suddenly a whole new world opens up to him where he can indulge in his desire to inflict pain while also making his partner happy, is an untapped resource that I for one would love to see explored more.
Don’t worry tho I have a Klesbians version of this planned for @klave-fucktober that I wrote for me specifically but I’m more than happy for you guys to read and enjoy it as well if you’re like me and want to see this…
