I truly used to believe that most of the hate against taylor swift was misogyny, because I saw misogyny so I SAID misogyny. people slut shamed her and said she had too many boyfriends and made fun of her for writing songs about them despite not holding male artists to the same standard. this is all true.
however...she is not someone I can bring myself to defend anymore!! like, at all!! and I've criticised her to people before and I've been asked "would you say that if she was a man?" yes...because her husband is just as complicit in the fact that:
the owner of an ICE camp was in attendance at their wedding.
brad pitt, known abuser, was in attendance at their wedding.
they both publicly associate themselves with known MAGA supporters and abusers (even personally handwriting thank you notes to them.)
before you say "why are you holding HER accountable for their actions?" it's because I believe that who you associate with ON PURPOSE says something about what you value. you don't HAVE to invite brad pitt, known absuer, to your wedding. you CHOSE to do that. you don't HAVE to have the ICE guy at your wedding, how do you even KNOW him? how do you even STOMACH knowing what he does and still having him around??
I just feel that she truly doesn't stand for anything because, once you get to her level of wealth, you stop caring. why should you care if it'll never affect you? (sarcasm.)
and then there was that time that she dated a 17 year old boy who'd recently lost his mother and bought a house next to his very soon after meeting him, but we can't get into that right now just find a youtube video about it if you must.
