It was not the words she heard but rather that chuckle that told her that she was wrong. No-one was coming to her aid. It was rather a third party that suddenly appeared and interfered with the whole situation. Now Nunnally started to be really frightened. While she might have been safe, or relatively safe, with her previous abductors, it might not be the same with the "new" stranger. But she was not able to give it another thought before it all started happening in front of her eyes. And it was much worse than anything she had initially imagined.
When the first man was basically cut in half (luckily she was not able to see it too clearly), she curled down on the pavement unable to move; almost unable to breathe. She closed her eyes tightly and regretted she could not have covered her ears not to hear anything. But her hands were tightly tied. Although she did not see what was happening, she could hear it and it was enough to make her shivering; trembling for her life. She was almost sure the man killed, because he liked killing. What could be another explanation for what she was witnessing? Or perhaps she was wrong? Perhaps he knew the two and had some unfinished business with them…? Perhaps he was following them from the beginning. That was also a plausible explanation. It would be the best if the man, after finishing his…no, she was lacking a proper word to describe what was just happening, if the man simply left without noticing her…
But then she heard these words: -- (“Who the fuck are you?”) -- and Nunnally knew it was not happening.
(“Please do not kill me…please do not kill me…please do not kill me…”)
She slowly opened her eyes only to see…the tall man in a brown hoodie all in bandages. She almost screamed and for a short moment she was happy there was a gag in her mouth.
“N-nunnally. I am Nunnally.” – she said quieter than whisper; her voice still muffled by the rug in her mouth – “Those…two…those two just kidnapped me shortly before you arrived…” – she looked at him; her blue eyes wide opened, begging him silently not to hurt her; a doe just before the collision with the car.
It wouldn’t be wise to ask him who he was? It wouldn’t be wise to ask him not to kill her?
“T-thank you…it…it seems…you just saved me…”- that was foolish to say, wasn’t it? But strangely enough that was a fact.
