Snape slammed his trunk shut. He had had enough. He wanted out. He wanted to get away. No more blasted school. No more wretched Marauders. No more! He wasn’t sure where he was going to go but anywhere had to be better than here.
A week’s worth of detention. That’s all they had received! A bloody week! And no thanks to Lupin. The Marauder would have kept his nose glued to his book all night if Professor Sprout come along.
It was a good thing that she had…
Snape kicked the side of his trunk but this merely resulted in an aching foot. He swore beneath his breath.
He glanced over shoulder. Avery had entered the room, looking bored.
"And where have you been?” Snape furiously asked.
"Detention with Flitwick," Avery replied, “Mul and I have been writing lines all day.”
Mulciber ducked around him and added, “You’re coming down to the Potions Club meeting right?”
"We’ll try not to burn the bottom of the cauldron this time,” Avery promised, “I think we’re brewing Wiggenweld.”
"I’ve been brewing that since the first year,” Snape muttered.
"We know," Mulciber cried, “That’s why we need you!”
Snape hesitated and Avery added, “Oh come on, mate.”
Snape’s mouth cured into a smile and he said, “Fine. I’ve got loads to tell you on the way.”
And so the three friends - nay, the three brothers - happily walked down the corridor, bitching about the Marauders and excitedly talking about potions *Flag drops down behind me* and Snape abruptly realized that through it all, his friends would always be there for him *Sappy music start playing* and the bond of friendship was so great that Snape was able to see that Hogwarts truly was his home…because home…*Wipes tear from my eye*…is where his family was.
This is totally canon, your argument is invalid.
