Kudos for your recent posts on Snape! They're very insightful and well constructed, though I haven't had the time to properly read and appreciate them yet (have an exam to study for, will do so soon).

I think what intrigues me the most about Snape at the moment (I've just read Prisoner of Azkaban again) is this internal battle he has with himself. It feels to me that he entered the "good side" on all the wrong terms. He wouldn't have cared for a family being murdered unless it involved Lily and that just shows incredible lack of compassion. But now that he's a teacher and it's 13 years later, he maybe thinks that he can just erase his past as a Death Eater even though, in reality, he hasn't changed much. Same grudges, same affiliations. His encounter with Sirius and Lupin completely breaks down this suave persona he had created and you see how brittle it really is.

I'm so glad I have Tumblr--I've "met" a lot of new people who have amazing thoughts and ideas.  It's so good to have people to talk to about things I enjoy that no one here at home knows or has opinions on.
