How does Klunko handle the stress of being a police officer while continuing to be a father and husband at home? Especially after chapter 42, that man is def not having the time of his life
Yeah, well, Klunko got some weak cards in this fic 😂 BUT!
Klunko generally loves being a father! We see it briefly in Chapter 12, but the crow bastard likes his son and spends time with him, he also actively celebrates Bop's milestones!
We don't like Klunko not only because he cheated on Narinder, but most importantly, I wanted him to be a character who made a serious, good decision by leaving the relationship with Nari. This guy did all he could, in every capacity of his might, to be a good partner to Narinder. Did he go on a drunk spree with a woman that had a crush on him for literal years? YeP. Did he make her pregnant? Also yeP. He also immediately went to prison and ended the relationship, which ISN'T MAKING HIM LESS OF A DICK, but says a lot about Klunko's sense of equity. Meanwhile, in chapter 42, we still have Nari stay outside his house and wonder if Klunko actually liked having greenery around.
Yes, currently Klunko has a very hard time in his life, but not because he's a husband or a father, but because he genuinely, deeply cared about Nari, and has (rightfully!) remorse for how their relationship ended. The thing we don't yet see is that Klunko isn't the only person responsible for this situation, but is treated this way.
I needed them to be a past item because Narinder, by any definition, isn't a good person and needs to change. No matter how much we like him, he's a dick. A serious, lonely motherfucker with behavioral problems, no matter how much love he has in him. He's still a dick to people who love him, EXACTLY because he thinks that dying for them is a good idea! We need Klunko as a mirror to see how he acted in that relationship, so Lambert wouldn't get into the same trap with him. This is what Fox's arc will be about: Nari wants a stabilization he's not yet able to understand, and Klunko will be a reflection of that.
