prompt ; dazai's beloved cooks for him after he left for the store.
when dazai finally trusts you enough to be by yourself while he went out to run errands, it was like you felt relief for the first time in years. maybe it was.
he didn't specify what he was doing, but he did seem like he would be out for a long time. but for whatever reason in the world, you didn't exactly plan to fully escape from him. maybe you were on something, because anybody else would have went as far as they could.
dazai kissed the top of your top of your head affectionately. "my dear," he addressed to you, his voice sweet, just like every other time he spoke. "i have to run errands, okay? can you promise me that you'll be good while i'm gone?" dazai rested his head on top of yours, holding you closely to his chest in a tight hug. you nodded your head against him, and he smiled. "i'll be off now, my love." and with that, dazai walked out the door, completely forgetting his keys on the table.
maybe you were drugged, high or some kind of intoxicated, because anyone would be overjoyed to see that their kidnapper left their keys with them, and they'd try to leave! i mean, dazai was normally cautious - how stupid of him this evening.
but for just some reason, any reason in the world, you didn't leave the house for freedom. instead it was for.. groceries? dazai did feed you often, but it was usually food from a local place that he liked a lot more than cooking, hence the reason there were barely any ingredients to make dinner with.
maybe you were doing this to gain trust and then turn your back on him later? well, it was too late, dazai left the keys here, and you were free to escape. so the first place you decided to go? the grocery store.
walking through the produce isle, you turned your head anxiously, looking behind your back to see if dazai found out you left and followed you. but no one was there, not at all. you were safe.
you gathered up money from inside your pockets when the man first took you - enough to buy a couple vegetables, a bag of rice, and a bit of chicken. that was enough for tonight!
upon your return to the apartment, nobody was there, so you got to work, having not been caught by dazai on your little outing to the store.
it was pretty easy to make fried rice. you found yourself in the kitchen chopping vegetables to put into the frying pan while you seasoned the chicken. dazai didn't have a ton of seasoning in his cabinets.. guess this guy liked his stuff plain? but you worked with what you had, and you were able to make a pretty damn good plate of chicken fried rice. the meal was perfect, and you had just finished when the door opened up. it was dazai. the brunette man opened up the door rather quickly, slipping inside the apartment. "belladonna.. this smells amazing!"
dazai was quick to praise your cooking, even telling you that he didn't want to eat your masterpiece in hopes of ruining it, but you told him to sit down and just eat it.
and that he did, and he loved it! he didn't act like anything was wrong, it went perfect! he praised your cooking skills the entire time while he ate.
even you forgot that you snuck out to retrieve your ingredients!
"belladonna," dazai spoke, sweetly. you were both nearing the end of the meal, with just two bites of the food left on the plate. "your cooking is absolutely perfect, you know that? i almost forgot that we didn't have any vegetables in the house." you tensed up. this was such a stupid idea, sneaking out to get ingredients for your meal. "i found those in the cabinet, you brought them home one night. don't you remember?" you lied nervously, biting up the inside of your mouth while you just silently begged he would believe you. "i would never think about willingly buying bell peppers unless i planned to cook such a meal. why would you leave the apartment, dear?" dazai slid his chair back, stepping towards you with his hands in his pockets. this was stupid, a stupid mistake that you can't undo. "no matter.. you didn't run away.. so what am i to do with you?" he grabbed a lock of your hair, pulling it upwards so you could face him. you cried out, whimpering in pain - but he paid no attention to it, looking you in the eye. "let's see."

fyodor is a cold man, but he admires your interest in books, even if interest is an understatement. your love for books had especially drawn him closer to you, and it was one of the key parts of you that drove him to such an obsession.
but even if fyodor loved books just as much as you did - which, he doesn't, - he wouldn't allow you to leave for the library at all.
he absolutely loved how you were so interested in books, but he wouldn't let you leave the home he had trapped you in. the most he would give you is monitored internet access, to look up and order the books you really wanted. most of the time, fyodor just went out to buy the books himself, bringing them back for you to read when you pleased.
he never minded it, either. fyodor enjoyed bringing you books. he would ask you which books you wanted, and bring home the ones you requested, along with similar ones he thought you would like.
fyodor also enjoyed sitting next to you or standing behind you while you read, peering over your shoulder and reading along the pages with you.
when the man first took you, you asked him if he had any books to read to keep yourself from succumbing to boredom. fyodor wasn't very surprised, he actually expected you to say something like this. all that time stalking you in the library had led to this moment, huh?
if he trusted you enough, he would actually bring you to the library. he didn't mind taking you there, the only issue would be you escaping. but even after fyodor was sure you wouldn't try to escape him, he still kept a hand somewhere on you, whether it was around your waist, on your shoulder, or holding yours.

DAZAI doesn't care. He's fascinated, but his anxiety eats him from the inside-. You know, and he knows you know. In his eyes, it doesn't matter, as long as you stay close to him. Although, he does keep an eye on you. You always did find ways to outsmart him.
⋆ It likely stared with meeting him in the agency. You could just tell who he was before. It was like you had a flashback, seeing a murderous past through his eyes. You didn't allow fear to consume you, but it was evident you knew something you shouldn't.
⋆ Dazai never confronted you about it. But it ate him alive. If you knew this, what else did you know? The thought made him shake. So, he started stalking you. Following you home at night, and keeping an eye on you from afar during work hours.
⋆ But following you home didn't mean going unnoticed. Every time he watched you from behind a pillar, he would stand silently until the moment you turn your heel to leave the place you're in, he doesn't miss the side eye you give him while you walk out.

RANPO is the type to make you feel like a big idiot. While he does care about how you feel, he just needs to push you over the edge and into his arms..
⋆ Ranpo's the type to laugh at you and call you an idiot for forgetting your super important meetings. He purposely makes you cry, and when he sees the tears staring to drip down, a false face of sympathy moves closer to you pulling you onto his shoulder, hugging you tightly until your tears are no longer dampening his cape.
⋆ Ranpo loves you, and that's why he does what he does. Not that he doesn't take pleasure in making you cry and feel dumb, but he can't have you all depressed every day, can he?
⋆ After insulting you and telling you that you're an idiot, Ranpo pretty much gives you extra love for the rest of the day. He stays by your side, petting your hair. He doesn't take back the mocking, and instead, he tells you that it's okay, and it was cute that you pretty much need him to remember everything for you. He just wants you to need him. It makes falling for him a little easier, right?
⋆ Now.. being kidnapped in your situation? Ranpo doesn't really think you're capable of that. Not to insult you, but he doesn't worry too much about you escaping. He does keep a close eye on you, though.
DAZAI is the type of guy to mess with you about it. He has no problem with your forgetfulness, but uses it against you. the worst thing is? you'll probably never know he did..
⋆ Dazai was more than okay with you being forgetful! When he noticed it, he offered to remind you about anything you needed to remember. How nice, right?
⋆ He even got you a gift, a tiny whiteboard and a dry erase marker!! A cutely styled to-do list, perfect to help you remember everything you needed to remember, like important meetings, or a case you were put on.
⋆ He probably messes with the white board, erasing everything you needed to do, and watching you forget to go do the thing you were supposed to do. Laughing to himself while you got lightly scolded for forgetting. And you never even knew that he touched the board to begin with; you just assumed you forgot!
⋆ Why does he do this? For his own enjoyment. That, and making you believe you're too forgetful for the dangerous things you're supposed to do in the agency. He may just drive you to quit your job. Strangely, even when you aren't at the agency, Dazai always seems to appear next to you to remind you about the wallet you forgot at the store, your phone you dropped in the park without noticing, or with the book you were supposed to return to the library that you accidently left somewhere.
⋆ I think Dazai is really similar to Ranpo in the situation where you're kidnapped. He doesn't really have any concerns about you escaping from him. Every time you say it'll happen, he just nods and laughs, humoring you for your claims. He just can't take you seriously - do you ACTUALLY think you can get away from him of all people?

being shy was no issue for fyodor. as a matter of fact, he adored it. your nervous tendencies were just so cute. whether he wanted to use your shyness to his advantage to get something he wants, or he simply thinks you're adorable, he can't possibly see it negatively.
he thinks it's just adorable how shy you are, but at the same time, he doesn't care. he doesn't care one bit about your timid nature. fyodor absolutely approves of your softness, how sweet and cute you are.
he likes to comment on it, and put you on the spot in situations simply because he gets to see you nervously shake when you're forced to speak. fyodor finds joy in seeing your embarrassed face, watching a bead of sweat roll down your forehead.
fyodor often belittles you for it. sometimes, he'll comfort you afterward, running a hand down your back gently. not that it really helps or anything, because he isn't sorry.

⋆ at first, he would try to get rid of them. but there were just so many flaws. if he killed them, he'd have to worry about covering up his tracks. even he isn't ready for that kind of disaster! just imagine sigma trying to cover up evidence of murdering someone. it would be like leaving behind bloody footprints while he mopped the blood the blood in front of him. there's no WAY he wouldn't screw up! well, that's what he thinks. he could probably get away with murder, especially if he contacted someone else, like fyodor or nikolai. but even so, they might not be of help ..
⋆ i think sigma would kidnap you fairly early, instead of waiting to do it. customers could get violent, and plus, you're not going to stay at the casino forever, so why not just save the two of you some time and a fight, and put an end to potential problems?
⋆ sigma would understand if you don't like it. he also doesn't like depriving people of their freedom, but all his other options could risk in you getting hurt. can't you see he did it for a reason? he didn't wanna do this, either!
⋆ one thing he'll never do is starve you. he sees no reason you should be denied food, since it was a basic human need. the only starving happening in the casino would be of your choice. at first, he leaves you to eat the food he brings you alone. best to give you your personal space, considering you were probably a little upset upon being kidnapped. if you chose not to eat the food, for whatever reason, like fear of poison or just out of spite, he likely won't notice for at least two days. i mean, he was bound to find out..
⋆ upon realizing you aren't eating the food he brings you, sigma will probably stay with you. but i can kind of imagine him feeding you himself when you refuse, and by that, i mean shoving it down your throat while sweetly telling you it's fine and you should just cooperate. he's SO sweet !! /sar
⋆ OH and he gives you gifts!! he figured he should probably give you things you might want, or opportunities to pick up safe, new hobbies if you're gonna be stuck there with him! it's good to express to him what you want to do, because he'll get you them the next day! if you ask to pick up sewing, knitting, or even crochet, he'll immediately say no. all of those have potentials to be weapons - even if you don't plan to use them against him, he just can't risk getting stabbed with a dull knitting needle!
⋆ lastly - if you were to ever escape, you'd probably be found immediately. he could probably try to get fyodor to help, and fyodor would probably rope in nikolai. so there isn't a huge chance of escaping successfully unless you never show your face around yokohama again. even then, you STILL might get caught!
