William Kentridge is best known for his expressionist short animation films he creates out of charcoal drawings. "No It is" is a triptych of three flip book films by Kentridge. The three simultaneous streams split a viewer's attention as a character modeled on himself paces anxiously on pages, occasionally breaking into a dance or sweeping a woman into his arms. Balancing Act by Gulammohammed Sheikh at Vasco Da Gama Square, Fort Kochi. It is a public sculptural installation inspired by an 18th century Jaipur School miniature painting depicting acrobats on a tightrope performing before a ruler and his court. In his sculptural translation of these acrobats, Gulammohammed has modified their facial features to resemble current political figures, thus conflating political intrigues of the present with a similarly turbulent period in the past. A performance based sculptural installation that draws together multiple histories and mythologies of labour, religion and maritime trade that entwined on the coastline it stands on. The installation is composed of a large bell which has been converted into a fountain that sprouts water from backwaters nearby. The bell by itself is a universally acknowledged symbol of time and morality.
