Great analysis Joons. ^_^ But I have to ask, what are your thoughts on the Phineas and Ferb plot in the episode.

I loved it. Their whole plot struck me as really naturalistic, which I might chalk up to the skills of the storyboarders, who seemed like a new team to me? I didn't recognize their names, but they really seemed to ground all the characters in unexpected ways--Candace's fake British accent, the casual conversations they were all having with Grandpa Fletcher. Just a lot of lovely nuances that made my heart soar. And the song is one of my most recent favorites, yay for getting Richard O'Brien to sing!!!

Now that Phineas and Ferb Save Summer has aired, what are your thoughts on it? That is if you have seen it of course. ^^

It was great! I loved learning more about the whole set-up of OWCA and LOVEMUFFIN, and there were so many great character beats that were so nice to see (Carl-Monty team-up, Monogram feeling lost, the friction within LOVEMUFFIN). I also liked how all the storylines really came together right at the same time, which was so exciting. And Buford was a gem!

Dan Povenmire just posted a picture on his twitter accout of a Music CD that was apparently a first season XMAS gift to the crew. Not only does it have all of the songs from Season 1 of Phineas and Ferb, but also 80's hit songs sung by Doofenshmirtz and Monogram.

I remember hearing rumors about that '80s duet, unless I'm just going crazy and conflating fanart with reality. BUT I NEED IT. Someone pester Rob Hughes to post it or something. :D

I have a question. That article that you posted about Dan and Swampy talking about writing feedback, in the tags, you said that it is rom a podcast. What podcast is that from?

That one was from The Nerdist Animation Celebration panel, with several other writers. It's one of my favorites and gives a lot of insight into the process of writing for TV animation.

One reason I'm going through old interviews is so I can organize them for myself, so hopefully I can compile a brief bibliography of pertinent podcasts/interviews and cross-reference them for myself. I read all the ones I can find, but it's hard to remember where certain quotes are from. I'm trying to fix that!

Candace Flynn and Stacy Hirano.

candace flynn is known as kevin flynn in another dimension, where her strength of character totally made a devoted follower out of one talking zebra, who has since dedicated his life to helping her win elections and win at life in every dimension that she exists. that’s how awesome she is. GOD BLESS. 

she will get into these awful, slugfest debates with buford over virtually anything, she can’t even explain why, it’s just really important that she proves him wrong, and it’s weird that he seems to disagree with her on practically everything, but she’ll be damned if she lets this kid get the best of her. of course, we all know the only way buford can express affection is by getting people he likes really riled up so he can just kind of zone out and watch them get really passionate about stuff they care about. ahhh, love. 

hey, whenever she gets sad or anxious, she can whisper all of her accomplishments to herself, and the list is so long that all the tight worry in her chest disappears because she’s radiant.

stacy definitely begins to wield her power as danville’s secret keeper proactively. i’m—gonna write a big meta post about this soon, but where the plots are normally separate, stacy’s role is to bind them together. compassion and trust can bridge those gaps. she slowly starts to make people see that going out of your way to help each other makes everyone in danville stronger. :) :) :) oh lord, i love it so much.

so perry stops by her house on his way home and she’s like “hey, buddy, pull up a chair!” and after a while it becomes this easy friendship thing, and she’s got popcorn waiting for him when he comes over, and he just rolls out on the floor of her bedroom and starts chattering incessantly to bitch about monogram and doof and everything, and stacy just nods in understanding. he’s also the only one she can get to watch horror movies with her anymore. 

that time stacy roped candace into being the back end of a horse costume only to have candace conveniently back out so she could go to the johnson family reunion wasn’t as big of a tragedy as it could have been. she actually improvised a pretty good routine for the talent show (or whatever they were doing) and got pretty good scores. candace apologized profusely afterwards and begged to know what happened, but stacy just lets her imagine that it was a horrifying and traumatic experience so she’ll think twice about breaking her promise again.
