KNbO3 nonlinear crystals – Laser Crylink
Description
KNbO3 crystal is a kind of oxygen octahedral ferroelectric crystal with perovskite structure. Because QPM has a large nonlinear optical coefficient (D31 = 15.8pm /V; D32 =18.3 PM /V), wide transparent range (0.4~5 mm), no light conversion effect. The average refractive index of KNbO3 crystal is 2.2. The theoretical reflectivity is 14% and the theoretical transmittance is more than 80%. Due to its high second-order (nonlinear) coefficient and good phase matching characteristics, KNbO3 is an ideal material for realizing low power laser diodes near 860 nm, Ti: Sapphire lasers in the range of 850-1000 nm, and Nd:YAG lasers in the range of 1064 nm. In addition, KNbO3 can be used for optical parametric oscillations of Nd:YAG lasers pumped at fundamental and second harmonic wavelengths to generate tunable radiation in the near-infrared region of 0.7 ~ 3 μm.
