Is Patience a Virtue?
New Post has been published on https://beyondtshirts.net/is-patience-a-virtue/
Is Patience a Virtue?
Patience is something that most of us struggle with; but, is patience a virtue?
Most people want to know the reasons for certain things happening; we want to have a clear answer as to when things may change, and for many people, we want those answers now.
I’ve been there, and chances are, you have, too. However, in order to avoid a lot of frustration and time, sometimes we need to just let go, and let God.
After all, He is the creator of the universe and knows exactly how many hairs you have on your head. He knit you perfectly together in your mother’s womb, and He knows the plans that He has for your life.
Why Is Patience a Virtue?
When we stop trying to take control of situations, give it all to God, and have patience, we will reach a point in our lives where His peace surpasses all understanding.
We will be able to find it within ourselves to be patient and realize that His plan is the perfect plan and His timing is the perfect timing.
“As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” 2 Samuel 22:31
What is Virtue?
These are the dictionary definitions for the word ‘virtue‘:
1. moral excellence; goodness; righteousness; 2. conformity of one’s life and conduct to moral and ethical principles; uprightness; 3. a good or admirable quality or property
If we take time to reflect upon this definition and link it to being patient when listening for God’s voice, we can see that when we are able to reach a level of true patience, we radiate a faith-like ‘aura.’
We begin to notice that our whole attitude towards life changes, and we have a better understanding of certain situations that many other people would not have.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4
And so, as you embark on life’s journey, keep in mind that God has you in the palm of His hand. One day you’ll look back at all the different ways in which your life has unfolded, and you will be grateful for God’s wisdom in your life. You’ll appreciate His protection from the silly mistakes that us mere mortals make on a daily basis.
Patiently Waiting for His Answer to Prayers
When you’ve prayed to God for something, it may seem as though God is saying no to you if you can’t have patience to wait for His answer. However, remember that time to God is much different than time to us. The Lord created time and so He lives outside of human time.
When we are patient, as scripture tells us, we lack nothing else. So, as much as patience is a virtue, so is having faith. Faith in God’s timings and His plan for your life. Take time to understand that His plan for your life is the perfect plan.
God knows the trials and struggles of your life. He also knows your potential and where you will end up one day. It will be the perfect place for you. Be patient and let God do His thing.
What are your thoughts on patience? Are you a patient person or is it something you continue to struggle with?

Knit Together in Love
Knit Together in Love
“… that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love…” Colossians 2:2 (NKJV)
I never thought I’d actually enjoy knitting until several years ago a good friend of mine taught me how. She and I would either sit outside at my place or over at hers and knit together for hours. She had a hand-knit golf club cover business and I helped her with her orders.
We were knitting on small…

Strong Ties of Love
Strong Ties of Love
2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. – Col. 2:2a NLT Col. 2:1-4 NLT Paul continually intercedes with God for the churches that he has planted and for those churches that his coworkers have planted. He realizes that when there are only a few believers present, it is easy for them to become discouraged and start to drop out. He wants…

Firmly rooted and knit together
Firmly rooted and knit together
This is the time of year when the careful gardener is painfully aware of root systems in the garden; especially when they are insufficient. Rainfall has been almost nonexistent for the past several weeks, and many of the newer trees and shrubs are showing signs of stress. The brilliant colors that herald autumn are muted even in the more established trees, because of insufficient water. (more…)
