CSM Gauge Step 2) I turned the tension dial a half turn (29.50mm) from the bottom. The machine will now knit but with extra pull down tension on the loaded bonnet (three pounds) if going a few stitches at a time. CSM Gauge Step 1) An amazing person I met at the Spokane Crank-In Cheri, recently suggested doing a tension gauge on the CSM. I’ve decided to try this. So with my Legare 400 tension gauge all the way down, digital calliper measured two fins to left of red 6’oclock mark (29.53) the machine would not cast-on. All stitches dropped.
