Knitting With Nylon

The reason that my blog at the start introduced Knitting together with Wool was because this was the first craft I had been taught aside my Grandmother and Motherly. It brought back many happy memories and a few laughs remembering the the time being we had the present sitting together and chatting while intertwisting. Spool Knitting Finished Project

Spool Knitting Finished Project

Well, I finally finished my “cattail” and bound it off from my 4 pronged spool.  My cord is 195″ long or almost 5  1/2 yards.  I am planning to roll my cord into a circle and use it as a trivet for my kitchen.

When rolled, the trivet will measure 9″ across which will be a perfect size for plates or bowls to keep the heat directly off my table.  It will also look great as a decorated piece under…

When I was a kid we called it “cork work” and I had a kit with a red, yellow and blue spool.  The red spool was long and thin with 4 nails at the top.  The blue spool had eight nails in the top, a very wide hole in the center and took a long time for the cord to appear from the bottom of the spool.  The yellow spool got lost.
