for Tobi, from Arthur n.n
repose - muse a languidly slips into muse b’s arms while muse b is lying somewhere
Long days were no stranger for either of them, especially since the research trip to Alberta had just wrapped up, bringing with it literal metric tons of new fossil material for Tobi to help prepare, and for Arthur to work out the funding not just for the one just completed, but also the ones yet to come since the fossil bed had been so productive and they'd had to leave a lot behind.
Still, the work was rewarding, even if he did finish his days with a fine dusting of powdered stone on his clothes and hair. Tobi had never lost his childhood passion for the past, and he'd never give it up -- even if the budding relationship with the museum's director was causing whispers in the halls.
He didn't expect to find Arthur stretched out on his office couch when he went in, but it brought a smile to his face. He took off his jacket and lay it across a chair, gave his hair a quick fluff to get the worst of the shale dust out of it, and then gently eased himself onto the remaining space on the edge of the sofa, tucking his head against Arthur's shoulder and draping a leg between the other's.
"If you're tired, you should head on home," he said quietly, winding his arm across Arthur's chest. "You'll wake up with a crick in your neck."
