Note to Self #2: inquire to honor and love
Sometimes, when we speak to people as if what we know is black and white, exact, and do not inquire of them for their thoughts, we boast ourselves and treat them to be fools; a dangerous place of pride for our souls. Should we assume the correctness of our thoughts on others? No, we should inquire in humility of others ideas. We should value the intellectual nature of others by assuming the possibility of our own incorrectness. May we learn to poke and prod at our own ideas and in the acknowledgment of our own lacking, find extravagantly rich truth; in the discovery of our own accuracies, find humbling grace that our awareness of truth was given us of God Himself.
