“Wessels Henry Bohnet, 19 mos.” Photographer unidentified (can’t make out signature), Mason, MI.  Found 29 May 2016 at an antique fair in Allegan, MI by KM. Wessels was born 23 Oct 1909 in Ingham Co., MI to Henry W. and Gertrude Maude (Walker) Bohnet and spent his entire life in the same area of Michigan. He was a teacher for 35 years and was also clerk of the village of Dansville where he lived with his brother, Wilmot, and attended the Methodist Church. He died 1 Nov 1963 and is buried at Fairview Cemetery in Dansville, MI.

Ruby Smith was born on 4 Oct 1881 in Manistee, MI to John and Elizabeth (Hawkins) Smith. He studied at the University of Michigan and later worked in Canada as a chemical engineer for the Curtiss & Harvey company which operated out of England. He passed away in Allen Park, MI on 19 Feb 1944.

[front] “Robert Gartung.” [back] “Robert Arthur at 3 months.” I. Tewlow photographers, Chicago, IL. Found 29 May 2016 at an antique fair in Allegan, MI by KM. Robert A. Gartung was born on St. Patrick’s Day, 17 Mar 1920, to George F. and Leah (Schroen) Gartung in Ypsilanti, MI. He spent much of his youth in Chicago, where he attended Austin High School. Their 1938 yearbook says he went by “Bob” and describes him as “industrious, mischevous, and speedy.” He attended Michigan State University and In 1950 he married Sylvia E. Starch and started a family. Bob passed away on 26 Jan 2004. His last residence was in Lansing, MI.
