Last night I read about the "angry protest" in DC, describing the #womensmarch from a reputable news source. If you've read anything like this, I'd like to let you know from a person that left at 2am in the morning to be in DC all day that this is bullshit. . . . Better descriptors of the event yesterday in DC would be: Resolute. Happy. Positive. Inclusive. Incredible solidarity. Intelligent, Thoughtful, Patient. Family-friendly. Extremely well organized. Strong and not silent. Everyone from the speakers, to those that gathered, to the police force, to the staff in the restaurants and museums were cheerful and happy to be around one another- we had something incredible to celebrate and be hopeful about: EACHOTHER. Make no mistake, every minute of the event was a gathering of hopeful souls who are standing up for each other and justice. How beautiful is that!? Oh, and we're all #wokeaf now. #knowthetruestory #strongertogether #werewatching (at The Mall (Washington DC))
