Go on about the Knuckles mini series?

Well... It's six episodes long, it's goofy, it's basically a parallel to the first Sonic movie (instead of Sonic and Tom, we have Knuckles and Wade), and... Yes. There's actually a "low budget rock opera" moment. 😂

Just for the records about that specific link: I quickly recorded that clip from my PC and uploaded to Gdrive to share with my peers on Discord (there is a music-only "video" on YT, but one really need to see the whole thing to enjoy the madness in full).

Listen... Knuckles has always been my favourite, on par with Shadow. Of course, I watched that series~💜 (at least three-four times *cough!*)

Staying in my cosy corner of the fandom means that no external opinion influenced my personal judgement. Which means that, all in all, I loved every part of it: the silliness, the childishness, the cheesiness, the kickassness...

Yes, even Wade's shenanigans hgfdjhfgdslkjk!

I was never bummed that the series was more focused on him than our red echidna. I saw it as a way for the story to show Knuckles going through an extra character development while helping Wade with his "quest".

I also noticed that, all names of the Whipples except for one starts with the letter W (Wade, Wanda, Wendy). And Wanda and Wendy also have the same letters (W-N-D), except for the vowels. 🤔

Anyways!

What I also noticed and loved was that, apparently, no one was treating/seeing Knuckles as a kid (excluding Wade's inquiry towards the beginning, about him being grounded). Heck, at some point Wanda herself even asks him if he wants a "Wandarita" (namely: a Margarita drink)! Like... Lady, I don't think Knuckles is anywhere close to being 21 yet, but sure. Let's offer an alcoholic drink to a kiddo (teenager, more likely), I guess 😂

Another thing that left me giggle-snorting from start to finish has been Pachacamac (which must be Ancient Echidna for "little shiet troll" in this series) and the "low budget rock opera". Ngl: I do have it on my mp3.

And lastly: one other character I liked has been "the Buyer". The actor really took that role so damn seriously. 👁️👁️ I lowkey wish we could see him again in the future as Knuckles' personal nemesis.

Adam Pally discusses the Knuckles Series in an interview with TheDirect.com:

"It was a limited series, so… I don't know if that was ever truly in the cards. But I do know that the franchise is strong and running on a full tank of gas, so to speak. There's a lot of plans and surprises."

This confirms, once again, that the show was only designed for one season. Any “leaker” that claims it will have two seasons or that the Chaotix were originally involved are not reliable, nor correct.

Its been waaaay too long since I've drawn my favorite echidna! I've really missed drawing Sonic characters, I really should get back into doing it haha

So me and my sisters rewatched the Knuckles series since it came out today (yes yes it was technically yesterday cuz it's after midnight, but I haven't gone to sleep yet!! It's still the 26th!!! /j /silly), and I had some thoughts about it. (in no particular order)

Maybe it's just because I've never been in that situation personally, but I like how the scene when Wade's mom comes to warn Wade about Pistol Pete. I like how she comes to talk to him very straightforwardly, but respects when Wade essentially says that he wants to give him another chance. She doesn't really argue with him, just tries to share her concerns and warn him.

And then how, after that, she doesn't even bring up that Pete betrayed them again. I guess you could say that the way she said Wade's name could've been a sort of 'It did happen' tone, but she didn't really press that. Idk, I just appreciate that from her.

I can't remember when I had this thought, or even if it was inspired by something else or if I came up with it on my own, but I've thought of it the past couple times we've watched the 5th episode.

When Knuckles said that "it was known throughout the tribe that Knuckles has a way with the words" (or something along those lines), I had the idea of if that was something Ob- Knuckles's dad said after little Knuckles said something particularly convincing or clever, y'know what I mean? And like it wasn't a lie or anything, just that he was good at phrasing things for his age.

(and of course I know it could've been saying that the Knuckles tribe was good with words, but at the same time idk if they have that name in the SCU. Plus.. idk I like the idea. Lil puggle Knuckles being a good talker for being so little. WAIT WHICH WOULD FIT IF HE WAS THE ONLY KID TOO YESS. not me dumping oldest child experiences onto him- lol)

And then the other thing I thought of that I remember is Wade and Susie's teammate relationship. I know it's just those last two episodes, but seeing their dynamic as they compete is really sweet. I like the way that Wade interacts with her is sort of a different kind of goofy that makes her laugh, and it's really sweet to watch. They're such a great team, I like them a lot more than I should lol
