Everyone knows the were-Zamboni isn't real. It's just a silly schoolyard urban legend, meant to make kids like Shane Hollander feel bad for giving it their all and excelling above everyone else. By the time Shane made it to the NHL, he had pretty much forgotten about the story, as had most of his peers. Until he was preparing to win his 5th Stanley Cup, that was, when he was forced to think about it.

That sucks, but for a second I read that as 59C and I was wondering how you were alive. Moral of the story: hurray for libraries! (also I should go to bed as it’s nearly 11pm here)

I’m pretty sure there are some places in the Outback where it got to that, or nearly! Further north, where my sister used to live, they’re going to hit 45C and higher today. Down close to the coast we’re headed for a nasty 42C (but it actually hit a maximum of 43C yesterday, so this may count as a cool change).

Can't wait! I've been reading parts of Small Things to my non-gleed roommate, and I think even she might get hooked!

Oh my gosh, that is one of the sweetest things anyone has ever said to me!!!!!

Also, because I do not feel like working, I immediately went off to look up what koala noises are like, and boy was I surprised:

Um, so it seems you like true crime? I really like My Favorite Murder (it's funny, but not in a way that feels disrespectful) or True Crime Garage. More general interest: I like This American Life, TED Radio Hour and Stuff You Should Know.

Okay, I got some True Crime Garage and This American Life, thank you. Someone else recommended My Favorite Murder to me as well, so I snagged some of those too. I’m really excited about all of these! Thank you so much!

Random follower comment: Woot! Go you! I was doing something similar earlier this year (though not as bad hours) and getting my new full-time office job (as apposed to the part-time one I had at the time) has been so great for me. I hope you have the same positive experience.

Thanks, hon. That’s so sweet! I’m glad you had a good experience switching jobs too! The work I’ll be doing is going to be great on my resume and I really like working for these people. I think it’ll be great!

Thanks for the condolences. She died years ago and I'm mostly at peace with that part, but how she was treated in life will haunt me forever.

It’s hard with siblings, because you want to desperately to protect them. I never knew about my sister’s bullying, and I will forever have guilt about that. Definteily not the same, but I understand that feeling.
