Ch. 1
A man hurries down the street clutching a briefcase, no doubt full of the only money he has left. (Approximately five thousand dollars.) A woman holds tight to her young child as she argues with her husband on the phone.
All pointless. Why should they bother, when there are greater evils among them? Even pathetic humans should be able to sense the destructiveness of their own humanity, festering in the air around them.
I sigh and look skyward, humans truly are pathetic. The police can't even solve a simple murder case. Look at the evidence, they don't. They look at the dead human for answers. I sigh once again and shove my fists deeper into my trench coats pockets.
Another sigh and I walk away from the mother and her child who had begun to cry.

I enter my apartment building, waving a small 'hello' to my manager. She gave me a smile as I started on the steps that led to my one room house. Two flights of old sagging stairs had led me to my little sanctuary, room 213.
Once inside, I engaged all three of the deadbolts, latched the flimsy ball-and-chain lock, and the worthless door lock. After neatly placing my coat on the coat rack, I surveyed my small space. Three curtains and a single door was the only privacy between rooms.
The living/dining room, in which you first entered, only housed a side table and a black leather recliner. The only piece of art in the room, a cracked mask spotted with blood and distant memories.
A black curtain with a giant red 'X' on it, off to the right of the room, leads to the kitchen. A stove, much used, a broken microwave, and an old refrigerator stands next to the double sink. I grab a water out of the fridge and look at the solitary picture. A little boy of five holding his fathers hand. The boy had dark brown hair that covered his eyes, and a smile that stretched from ear to ear. The picture was badly burnt, leaving only the boy, his smile, and part of a male figure.
After about a minute of looking, I headed over to a white curtain. On it was a blue celestial dragon holding a pale yellow sphere. Upon entering, I was attacked.
