a big bold beautiful journey (2025) ᯓ★

╰┈➤ one of my favorite movies of 2025 .ᐟ this movie deserved so much more attention and love. the entire cast complemented each other so well, elevating each other's performances. phoebe waller-bridge was unbelievably funny with her sharp timing, and margot robbie, omg, i could talk about her in this movie forever. the scene with her and her mother was so beautiful, genuine, and had so much soul. colin farrell was equally as amazing. the scene with his father had me holding my breath the entire time, i couldn’t look away. so so so visually stunning. it was very dreamlike, and i loved the way light was used, so props to the gaffer. the soundtrack with mitski and laufey had me levitating. bug like an angel being in there made my heart STOP. i would totally recommend it if you just want to watch an incredible and funny love story that does not take itself too seriously. it has magical elements throughout the whole movie. however, i will admit not the best explanations and overall logic, so don’t look too deep into that aspect if you want to enjoy the film. what grounds the film the most is that you meet these characters in an uncertain and conflicted point in their lives. they are still dealing with unresolved issues, who they were, and who they want to be. you watch these two characters grow together, right their wrongs, and it’s messy and beautiful⋆˙⟡
