Hi! Can I ask you an art question? This is something I don’t get. You know when people say treat the eye like it’s a ball? Okay so like I know the eye is a ball, but I don’t understand how that affects the way I draw the eyes...
HmmmmMMMMMM. That’s a pretty good question. um. Let me think about that… Maybe it’s to help people learn how to draw eyelids better. if you know it’s a ball, that can help you picture what shape the eyelids are??
To me, it kind of helps with the shape of the lids and the position of the eyelashes. it helps with the wrinkles in the lids and skin that’s directly over the eye. things like that.
I personally just draw the lids first and don’t bother with the eyeball until I do the iris and pupil. But it also kind of helps know the shape of the iris since it’s all just a bunch of circles.
I’ve found that if I just eyeball it (hehe) and draw just a half circle, they can turn out kind of lopsided, so drawing circles helps keep the shape more pleasing to look at.
Dang. I hope that helps! Other than that, I’m not really thinking of anything else…
