Before we went under and after we went under! Our scuba diving excursion on Koh Pha-Ngan.
So we rented some gear, but they didn’t have fins. We already encountered giant sea slugs (a.k.a. sea cucumbers) and sea urchins before, so we knew bare feet wasn’t much of an option.
Life vests were a must.
Now we’re parading around the beach in faded old life vests, with these botched looped buckle attachments begging for air between our legs.
Thankfully the excursion was so much fun! Past these two little fish was a world we didn’t have equipment to capture. The coral ranged from bright blue to an opulent purple. There were plenty of fish swimming in schools, shifty crabs, and deep ocean vegetation.
Then we had to swim back…well thanks to those hideous vests, we got to float back.
While on Koh Pha-Ngan, we had the opportunity to teach at a school there. We immediately fell in love with the kids! The teachers were al so sweet and beyond generous. Our last day there was a Buddhist holiday. We got invited to the temple with the school and got to sit in on their sacred ceremony.
Exploring yet another beach on the island of Koh Pha-Ngan called Koh Ma. A lot of locals go to this beach, making it slightly less of a tourist spot. There were magnificent rocks that we were able to climb and a sandbar allowing you to walk out to a smaller island. We were lucky enough to catch the sunset as well.
