anytime you reblog a half life post and it talks about Gordon, for a moment I assume it's about Gordon Ramsey until half life is mentioned (sometimes it is not and for too long I think it's about Gordon Ramsey)

hello keroa I have been thinking of rats and am wondering do u have any advice to give like how big enclosures should be, how many you should have, and like play areas for them??

Ohhh that's so exciting!!! I miss having rats so much 🧡🧡🥹

The first most important thing about rats is to always keep them in groups. Two or three is very manageable for a first time owner, I have only owned two at a time as I've been too nervous to try and introduce new rats to each other.

If you're planning to get just two, a single critter nation is enough, though I sprung for the double critter nation because I eventually wanted to have more than 2 rats, but that's not in the cards right now. The DCN is great bc it's easy to clean but it is very big! (The one in this picture is a little too basic lol)

I would say a good blog to check out for rat stuff is @shadowtherat because she takes super duper good care of her babies! Her enclosures are really enriching and have lots for them to do, and she gives them lots of out of cage time and other interaction throughout the day.

One thing I recommend is a litter box! They sell litter boxes for small animals and I used to use paper pellet litter like this!

YES! I have two babies and the tags I use for them are "#sunny and clover" and "rat blogging"
