DIABETES
Are you a pasta lover? Sweets addict? or craving for both? Well, here was the place for you. The Koko Kofi. Located in Caloocan City, between Jackman and CVC, they served frappes, pizzas and of course for Php 169.00, you will have their specialty. Guess what? Its unlimited pastas and pastries (cakes, waffles and many more).
Before that, you must face a real challenge, the waiting game. Since the restaurant was built in a commercialized area, it was very common to the students, families and, friends to visit this place. Luckily for us, we arrived too early before the hell began.
Once we entered the place. It answered why it was very popular aside from the fact they offered unlimited foods. The theme of the café was modern-natural. They had a mini garden. It was full of leaves and combined with gray colored floor and some glittering tables, it felt like you were in a futuristic green house. They also had a 3 storied small cabin with a meadow themed carpet where you and your friends can hangout and chat. Sadly, we did not get a chance to have table on that one because it was reserved by other people.
Moving on, the most awaited, the food taste. For the pastas. They had a less variation of sauces: only red sauce and white sauce. The red sauce had a sweet taste with sourness in the end. It was less meaty but still the sauce itself complimented the pasta that you want to eat more. About the white sauce, it was not I expected that was creamy. Instead, it was more mushroom-y. The scent of the mushroom will tickle at first intimidating you to try it. Last part of the pasta stories was the macaroni. Topped with cheese sauce and flavored with red sauce, this one was delicious. It was funny that time because were the one who consumed the macaroni before the refill.
Next part was the sweets. This one they offered many pastries such as cakes, brownies, waffles and even ice cream. They also had various of toppings to choose from starting to sprinkles, chocolate sticks and other more that lets you to have a limitless combination. All of the cakes, I chose the ordinary chocolate cake with white icing covering. The foam of the cake was not dusty and definitely sweet. But with the icing it became balanced that it felt like you were in the clouds. The brownies were a must try. You can taste the sweetness at the same time there was a bitterness and also it was not chewy. The waffles were nothing special but with the sticky, and, syrup-y syrup: chocolate, strawberry and, maple. These add flavor to it. The ice cream compared to ordinary ones. This was better. It was not watery yet the chocolate flavor taste like a powdered one. Same for vanilla flavored but with the syrups, this was sure great.
When we were at our limits, we tried to pass the time since we had remaining time for a two-hour buffet. We played cards and never expected that they also offering board games such as snake and ladders so that you can gather and hangout to your friends even more. Also the lively pop music boost the mood especially for us.
After all the Koko Kofi was a nice place for a party, circle of friends and even families that want to tag along and eat together. It was price worth, appetite worth, ambience worth and socially worth. So in all, I gave them 4.0 out of 5.0. Thumbs up!
Aside from Koko Kofi Caloocan branched. They took place with some known places such as San Roque where they served breakfast and frappes. Koko Kofi Marilao branched that mainly focused on frappes and coffees as well as Koko Kofi Las Piñas branched that started on November 27 a year ago.
Goodluck!
