I don’t like to speak badly about anyone, but I’d like to clear something up.
Komaban received rude anonymous asks after he made posts critical of Aminyan which some perceived to be racist. Based on his blog analytics, he believed Aminyan was behind the rude asks.
Komaban’s analysis is incorrect.
The asks are made from a US IP traced to Sprint PCS, but Amina was in Japan at the time. Although Komaban claims the US IP is from a VPN, Sprint PCS is a mobile provider, not a VPN service. Whoever made the asks had to be physically inside the United States at the time.
The analytics software claims one post was made from Amina’s home state of Missouri, but this is only an estimate since IP geolocation is not an exact science. The IP address is actually registered to Sprint Chicago, and might be used by anyone in a wide area. But not by Amina, who was in Japan that day.
The first rude ask was not posted until 29 Sept at 20:49 Japan time, 45 minutes after Aminyan reblogged Komaban’s racially insensitive post where he claimed he had never heard of an intelligent black person. This gives all of Amina’s supporters both motive and opportunity to make the rude asks.
Amina tweeted complaining about racism at 7:51pm Japan time. The timing suggests that Amina noticed Komaban’s post about black people’s intelligence, tweeted about it, and reblogged it with her own reply 15 minutes later. Why would it take another 45 minutes to write an ask? A reasonable conclusion is that a follower didn’t see the post until about 45 minutes later, and the anonymous supporter made the rude asks.
The writing style of the asks is too crude to be Amina’s work. She’s polite and highly intelligent. This is one reason why she was so offended by Komaban’s claim that he has never heard of an intelligent black person.
