hii! can i ask what your opinion on Kamukoma is? their dynamic is very different from Hinakoma and i like how the ship showcases two different sides of them, the one usually hidden in Hinakoma or portrayed as the bad past. I think they'd mean a lot to each other and Kamukura would hang out with him just to alleviate his boredom if nothing else.

Hii! Thank you for the ask! I actually thought about this for two full day and still can't figure out an answer. I think it's probably because I really don't understand Kamukura as a character.

Like, I can't imagine Kamukura has someone he cares about or mean much to...?? and that's not to invalidate your opinion anon, it's just I haven't found a reason to convince myself that... yet. Maybe you can help me with it, I'd appreciate that!

Diff anon here but just wondering, when/where was Natsumi’s ultimate status retconned? I don’t have Twitter or bluesky so I’m a bit behind on the stuff Kodaka has been posting and she’s not popular enough for people to post much about her 😔

I'm quite old in this fandom. I joined fandom in 2013 when there were only 2 games to base off of. So until the anime came out, all info we have about Kuzuryu's sister is that she will be enter the school with the title "Ultimate Little Sister." And you get this piece of info by talking to Kuzuryu. I'll attach the screenshot later if you'd like.

So naturally for me the anime retconned this piece of info — though I know it's like the Nanami situation where people would be like "they just didn't reveal this piece of info in the game," I get it, but I've been in this fandom for way too long to deal with all these contradictions 🥲.

HPA students are 17 when they are first years and 20 when they graduate. The sdr2 students are told they have already graduated/they are already at least 20 years old as their first motive at the very beginning of chapter 1. I really don’t get how them being teens is such a common misconception in the fandom

Can I get a gameplay screenshot for the 17 year old part? You can stay anonymous and give me a timestamp to a YouTube video or something. I don't know how I've played this game for multiple times yet still missed this fact lol.

If I just got into highschool and some random stuffed animals tell me I've actually graduated and am actually 20, I'd still believe I'm 15 (or 17), since I've only experienced 15/17 years of my life, and we can see from ch 6 that their avatar bodies still reflect their first-year high schooler self (example being Saiyonji).

Also, like, it's fine if you believe they're 17 y/o 🤦. I honestly don't care if they're 15 or 17 or 20. If it is important to you that they are 17, just pretend I put 17 in the place of 15; or don't read what I've wrote. I'm ok with that. 15 is just a shorthand for me to say komaeda is still a little guy who hasn't got rid of his teenage emotions and matured into a proper adult human being. He's troubled by lack of normal socialization, he's still mentally immature regardless of his physical age, and I want to empathize with him and give him some touches of humanities in this way. It's a rhetorical shorthand.

Nagito is like a puzzle that was done and undone so many times that most pieces are damaged, some are forever stuck together even though they don't belong with eachother and some are missing entirely. Somehow, pieces of other puzzles ended up in the pile, too

Hagakure is 20 years old when he starts HPA, he is 3 years older than the other students, making HPA 1st years 17. theres nothing to believe, that's just canon? and again the sdr2 student are aware that they are at least 20 years old from the very beginning of the 1st chapter, as that is the chapter's motive (and in particular motivates komaeda because of his life expectancy due to his illnesses). people calling full ass 20 year olds teenagers/15 year olds when it is literally the first motive in sdr2 is such an annoying fanon misinterpretation

I'm sorry you find this annoy, please block me. There's no point in convincing me that they're in their 20s, as I said, for me their teenage status is a rhetorical shorthand to better understand their characters. They can be in their 50s and still have a mindset of a teen. If Kodaka can retcon Kuzuryu's little sister's Ultimate status and Nanami's AI identity, I too can decide what their ages are.

In other words, I'm in full support of fanon. This is fandom, you can do whatever you want here as long as you don't cause harm to real people.

haiii halllooo i keep seeing u refer to nagito (and co) as 15 but im likee ? is this canon or hc bc ive personally always thought they were like 17 or so bc their sprites don't really give them the younger teen look i wonttt lieeee ... In the program his avatar is the version of himself that just got into highschool (others too), which would make him 15-16 I think? I got into HS at age 15 so that's what I went with. Outside of program their physical age would probably be like, idk, 20 or something.

Anime is a weird genre where you get loli looking hundreds year old dragonborns and adult men looking middle schoolers. It's a shame, I don't pretend it doesn't exist, I just chose to bear with it. It's weird. But I can't do nothing about it.
