Catcher in the Rye; Can teens relate?

In the Catcher in the Rye, the main character doesn't only have a conflict with his own personality and identity, but he also has trouble finding his true self, and I personally believe quite a bit of teens can relate to the feeling of not fitting in, not to mention the main character Holden, comes off as a hypocrite and ain't for nothing I also believe teens can identify with that dude... IDK How to feel about Holden as he's coming off as phony himself and sort of a hypocrite. I don't like Holden AT ALL so far but I hope the read changes
