“I'm not joking,” Arthur deadpanned, and picked up the instrument. “This really is called a sextant.”

“What, do I seem like I enjoy that kind of shallow humour; that I’d be the type to try and get you to say an inappropriate word? I’m offended, frankly.”

“You’re being very rude, you shouldn’t be asking me this.”

“Eh?” A dumbfounded gaze. Was he truly being rude? He hadn’t thought asking the man whether or not he had actually wanted to be here was /wrong/ by any means. Mere curiosity, really. Wasn’t as if he asked him to jump off ship whilst singing the national anthem of his home land. “I was just asking because you appear bored out of your mind.” That or as if he had some hidden vendetta.

Another year gone and nobody celebrated my birthday...

Dusk had just fallen upon the skies, dimming it rapidly and, had he resided within the upper lands, then the roads would be lit by the glare from the streetlights. But of course, he resided in the lower. Quiet, dark aside from the light that shined through his windows from within his home.

He had just tucked his children into bed, including the husband who appeared much more childlike from all the fun activities he partook in prior to bed time. A cute, happy family. And it seemed it was time to finally join them for rest. But–

A knock? Mmm. 

Sleepily sauntering his way towards the door, he unlocked it and opened it only partway, with his foot blocking it from being allowed to further open. Had to be careful, of course. Who knows what kind of lunatic wandered at ni–Oh.

Arthur gave the man a once-over, then took a sip of his drink. “That does make sense. I’d already sat down with my tea by the time you got here.” As discreetly as he could, he looked for any accidental indications of his actual age. The fact that he was reading a book published generations ago caught his attention, so he quickly hid the book under the table, putting it on his lap. Out of sight, out of mind.

Tbh, I don’t think there’s much or any advice one could give to Mo! As different as both Antonio and Mogens are - in both personality and their views, they’re somehow able to form quite a formidable friendship.

Antonio really appreciates their friendships and he often enjoys hearing what few things Mogens has to say - he finds his words and view in life rather insightful and allows him to gain a better understanding of the life Mo leads. In turn, he hopes he’s able to somehow impact Mogens’ life in someway, even if it’s just being that one guy who’ll greet him on a day-to-day basis.

I think he trusts Mo a lot more than he lets on, and would probably tell him a secret or two considering how Mogens doesn’t seem the type to gossip, really - at least, not without gaining something from it. But he trusts him enough to know he wouldn’t ramble about his personal life with others (not that it matters seeing as Antonio does that a lot, himself).

Overall, there’s a good amount of trust there and a lot of a surprise factor, I believe. He can’t really read Mogens all that well and it seems to work out despite all that! He’s really happy to have bumped into him at that coffee shop.
