chikara's voice strained with the word; more than just that, ‘ omens ’ held an uncomfortably profound prese- nce in his life. or, rather, he’d been subjected to so m- any rumors from his grandmother about the dangers of ghosts & curses & all supernatural misfortune that they became ever-present concerns of his. generally, he wasn’t very superstitious -- he just tended to stay a- way from potential dangers, out of old habit.
