A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 538
MY 10 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 538:
1) Hijikata going all murderous spider monkey on Isaburo.
2) Just because I enjoy seeing Elizabeth with her murder face on and killing people.
3) Clever ploy, even if it was recycled.
4) That was a very appropriate burn considering this is the second time Hijikata pulled that trick on Isaburo. Dude really should have noticed the little people around him.
5) Hijikata is just so damn cool.
6) Kondou’s words just made my heart soar. Great speech.
7) I loved that this was going on at the same time. Amazing.
8) I love that they are so equally matched both in abilities...
9)...murderous intentions...
10)...and strength. I don’t even mean it in a shippy way; they are just so fun to watch because they’re a good fighting match for each other.
SHIPS TALLY:
Kondou x Hijikata: I can totally understand why people would ship them.
Okita x Nobume: in a different dimension where Kagura doesn’t exist, I would have totally shipped the hell out of these two. In this dimension, I just ship them once in a while but I can’t really commit.
Zura x Elizabeth: she held on to Zura for the rest of the chapter. Awwness.
Shinpachi x Yamazaki: I just liked that they had their arms around each other. If I didn’t already think Yamazaki and Tama were meant for each other, I could board this ship. At least Yamazaki would be somewhat attainable for Pachi-kun.
Kondou x Saitou: again, can’t resist the arms around each other thing. I also thought the dialogue was funny when taken out of context.
Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just so freaking amazing. It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s generosity that I can enjoy Gintama on yet another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.
