Cliff Point Trail
We drove around Lake Koocanusa to find a hike for the day. The Tamarack trees in this area are amazing especially when they are at their brightest color change.
The Tamarack has a very fine and soft needle. Later in the season they brown and fall off. The hike we took was only a little more than 5 miles but the elevation change to Cliff Point was 1800 feet.
The pictures don’t show it but we had a clear view to the snow covered mountains in Canada.
After the hike we continued up the west side of the lake to the above bridge and back to Libby then Troy on the east side of the lake. The drive was around 3 hours with lots of scenery to be seen.
