𝓣he adrenaline has settled, or has at least become a dull throb, but this hollow sensation in riley's bones doesn't feel any better. it's worse, somehow. if the proof that he's survived another cycle is MEANT to be some sort of consolation, it's a pathetic one. throat closes — dull & scratchy, swallowing down whatever self - pities he's mustered. bloodstained clothing fills none of the bottomless holes in riley's memory, & he's hoping jadine will have something he can go off of. ❛ oh ... you don't have to do all that, ❜ a weak reminder is nearly all he can muster as riley absently fiddles with bloodied fingernails [ ... ] it's obvious jade's presence is doing wonders for his NERVES — boy still fighting off the dissociative state she'd discovered him on her doorstep in. ❛ — didn't really plan on ruinin' your night like this. ❜
