Arkansas Is Hash Life

You only hear local rappers complain about unity amongst each other here in Arkansas. Everyone is in a rat race to be the "King of the A" but there's something missing. No one has been able to put their fingers on it except for a few who are outside of the circle popular artists. There are a only a few artists who have stepped up and surpassed the local scene and we should be grateful for that much. Arkansas is full of talent and rich with history but the only thing promoted is the gang lifestyle or the country life. Yes, their are plenty of rural areas who live a bit differently than Little Rock and they deserve a chance to share their experiences as well.

Arkansas now has a hip-hop identity and it's HASH LIFE. HASH is an acronym for Hope And Strive Hard, Hustle And Stay High, and/or Hated And Still Humble. We are one of the few, if not the only, of the southern states to not be exposed in the mainstream hip-hop arena. We've suffered years of humiliation through the media but we never cared what others had to say about our natural state of existence. Bill Clinton, the famous jazz playa president, is from Hope. So he gotta be H.A.S.H head. Rudy Ray Moore(R.I.P) better known as Dolemite is from Fort Smith. Al Capone visited Hot Springs for the healing properties of the water. Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, is from Fountain Hill. Derek Fisher and Joe Johnson hail from Little Rock. This list can go on forever but you get the gist.
